Some streets do the planning for you. Pasteur Street in Gemmayze is one of them. Within a short walk it holds a pavement bistro that turns into a cocktail bar as the light goes, an open-air terrace that runs from late morning to last orders, a dining room that cooks between the Mediterranean and Japan, and a liquor shop that is also one of the better cocktail bars in the city. Four of the five places below are on it, close enough that one evening can take in more than one of them.
The fifth is a short drive away on Monot, where Pacifico has been mixing margaritas since 1995, which makes it one of the longest-running cocktail bars in Beirut.
Book where you can, arrive early at the weekend, and leave the car somewhere you will not need it until morning.
